Over 13,000 2BHKs to be distributed in Hyderabad on September 21 in second phase: KTR
The Minister warned that there would be strict action to the extent of removing the erring officials from Government job in case of irregularities in the construction of double bedroom houses.
HYDERABAD: Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) KT Rama Rao (KTR) has announced that 13,3000 double-bedroom houses will be distributed to beneficiaries on September 21 as part of the second phase of the State Government's flagship housing scheme.
KTR on Tuesday reviewed the progress of the house distribution programme on Friday at the office Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav in the State Secretariat.
KTR said that the Telangana Government was providing free double bedroom houses worth more than Rs 50,000 crore in the market to the poor people of Hyderabad city and that the construction value of one lakh double bedroom houses in Hyderabad was Rs 9,100 crore.
The minister congratulated the GHMC officials for working hard to complete the first phase of the programme, in which 11,700 houses were provided to the poor on September 2.
KTR said that the selection process for the double bedroom houses was being done in a transparent manner without the involvement of MLAs and public representatives. The Minister warned that there would be strict action to the extent of removing the erring officials from Government job in case of irregularities in the construction of double bedroom houses. He instructed the collectors to be strict in the whole process and to ensure that no mistake was made.
KTR also said that the Grilahakshmi scheme would also start soon in the city. He said that ministers had asked the Chief Minister to make some changes to the Grilahakshmi programme in Hyderabad. The Chief Minister had tentatively agreed to the changes suggested by them.
The Minister also said that Hyderabad city would also come up with complete guidelines on notarial properties soon. KTR said that after the formation of the Telangana Government, at least 15,000 to 20,000 people have benefited from each constituency through various programmes like construction of double bedroom house, regularisation of the charters and notarial properties. He added that they were also ready to clear encroachments in closed catchment areas and allot them double bedroom houses.
