Scared by KCR factor, Centre put on hold Visakhapatnam steel plant privatisation: KTR
The BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre has developed cold feet following KCR’s emphatic statement on Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and put its privatisation moves on hold, claimed Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao
HYDERABAD: The BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre has developed cold feet following KCR’s emphatic statement on Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and put its privatisation moves on hold, claimed Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao on Wednesday.
Addressing a meeting here, KTR said that the fallout would be like this if anyone took KCR head-on.
“Recently, KCR spoke on how the Centre was giving a raw deal to the proposed steel plant in Bayyaram and looking to privatise the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. KCR was the only leader who was outspoken about the Centre’s sinister moves against the Visakhapatnam steel plant. KCR said that the Centre was acting whimsically, misusing its power. Because of the allotment of Bailadila iron ore mines in Chhattisgarh to Adani’s company, the Bayyaram steel factory has been reduced to a non-starter.
“While demanding the Centre to withdraw its privatisation plans for the Vizag steel, KCR also warned them with counter measures. He vowed to send a team from the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) for studying feasibility aspects and now we are seeking the panic reaction to it from the Centre. This morning, the Union Government announced that it had put its plans for Visakhapatnam Steel Plant privatisation on hold. This is what happens if KCR swings into action,” KTR commented.
