HYDERABAD: Tension prevailed for a brief while at Gun Park near Telangana Assembly building in Hyderabad on Thursday as a result of a scuffle that ensued between members of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi Vidyardhi (BRSV) and the corporators of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) while paying tributes to the Telangana martyrs.

Trouble started when the BJP corporators, accompanied by party workers, objected to the BRSV members taking too long in paying their tributes and not allowing them to pay their respects at the martyrs pylon in Gun Park. Citing that they needed to go to the GHMC council meeting, they insisted on the BRSV members to clear the way for them. As this irked the BRSV members, who were already paying tributes to the martyrs, a heated exchange of words ensued between the two sides.

The two sides tried to jostle and enter into a scuffle as tempers ran high even as the heavy posse of police, deployed to pre-empt any untoward incidents there, stood between the two sides and valiantly tried to disperse the agitated activists of the two parties.

Tension prevailed there for some time with both the sides raising slogans against Narendra Modi and KCR. The police teams, which had a tough time after being sandwiched between the two sides, however ensured that there was no law and order situation due to the altercation.
