TRS protest against Centre's decision to hike LPG price
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has strongly condemned the Centre’s decision of hiking LPG cylinder prices.
HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has strongly condemned the Centre's decision of hiking LPG cylinder prices. The TRS ministers staged protests across the state on Thursday after IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao opposed the hike and said that the Rs 50 price-hike was a cause of concern for the people.
Medchal District TRS President and MLC Shambhipur Raju attended the protest held at Gandimaisamma square in Quthbullapur Constituency with empty gas cylinders and flags.He protested by cooking on a wood stove on the road. Women, in very large numbers, also joined the protest. Corporators, councillors, leaders, activists and others also participated in this program.
MLA Vivekananda also participated in the protests at Chintal along with the women and other party members. The MLA demanded that the Centre takes back the decision and also urged to further decrease the price of cylinders. The women and the cadre raised anti-Modi slogans.
MInister Koppula Eshwar in Peddapalli district had launched a sit-in protest.
TRS leaders from Jangaon, Suryapet and Siddipet also launched protests in large numbers with empty gas cylinders and placards demanding withdrawal of the Central government's decision.
