HYDERABAD: Severe heatwave warning is pronounced in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh by weathermen, weather enthusiasts and governments.

Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority on Monday predicted severe heatwave conditions in as many as 127 mandal and heatwaves in 173 mandal on Monday followed by severe heatwaves in 92 mandals along with heatwaves in another 190 mandals on Tuesday respectively.

APSDMA MD Dr. BR Ambedkar said that there could be high temperatures in other areas as well and advised the people especially the elderly, pregnant, and children to be wary about the heat conditions in the state and take necessary precautions. He advised that they should not go out unless necessary.

It is predicted that temperatures of 45°C to 47°C likely to be recorded at various parts of Vizianagaram, Manyam, Alluri Sitaramaraju Anakapalli, Kakinada, Konaseema, West Godavari and East Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palanadu, Prakasam, SPSR Nellore districts while in parts of Kurnool, Nandyal, YSR Kadapa, Annamayya, Chittoor and Tirupati districts are likely to record temperatures of 42°C - 44°C.

Meanwhile, temperatures of 42°C - 44°C were recorded in many places of the state. It is learned that the temperature of 40°C to 41°C was reported at 11 am making it difficult for the people to come out.

According to Andhra Pradesh Weatherman (@APweatherman96), “Cyclone Mocha has taken away all the moisture in Andhra Pradesh and due to which, there will be Severe Heat Wave conditions with Temperatures along Coastal Andhra going upto 46/47 Degrees during the next 5 days.”

The weatherman said that districts like NTR (Mainly Vijayawada), Eluru, West Godavari, East Godavari, Prakasam, Palanadu, Nandyal, Kadapa, and Kakinada districts will see a Major Impact from Heat Wave while Visakhapatnam likely to witness temperatures up to 39 C during next 5 days and nights will be very Humid and Sultry.

Districts like Nellore, Tirupati, Annamayya, East parts of Anantapur, Kurnool, Sri Sathya Sai, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Parvathipuram districts are likely to face heat wave conditions with temperatures between recorded between 42-45 C during next 4-5 days.

Vizag weatherman (@Vizagweather247) stated that temperature was likely to touch 45°C to 47°C today in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and predicted heatwave conditions for the next 3 days with very warm dry winds.

Telangana to scorch

Hyderabad is already sizzling. Interestingly, rural areas are affected much higher temperatures as opposed to urban areas. The growing urbanisation may no longer hold good as the reason for soaring mercury levels.

Another severely hot day in Telangana with temp close to 46°C in Rural Telangana and 41°C in Hyderabad.

Similar range of temperatures expected to continue for next 5days with complete dry weather over most areas.

Telangana weatherman T Balaji tweeted: “SEVERE HEATWAVE WARNING TODAY ⚠️

Today it will be massive heat and completely dry in Telangana, mainly North, East Telangana will witness 46°C+ heat and Hyderabad will see temperatures close to 43°C, strong hot winds to blow across Telangana ⚠️🔥

Next 3days too same situation.”

Met authorities and administrations of both states cautioned the people to stay indoors and hydrated.
