HYDERABAD: The 325th Khalsa Panth Foundation Day Celebrations popularly known as "Vaisakhi" will be celebrated on a grand scale by the Sikh community of Telangana from April 12 to 14, 2024.

The celebrations will be organised under the aegis of Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet, Hyderabad where the Sikh brethren from Hyderabad and different parts of Telangana state will converge for Vaisakhi celebrations.

 

 The main celebration of the Vaisakhi and two more major important events ''Vishaal Deewan'' (Mass congregation) and ''Nagar Keertan'' (Holy procession) will be held on Saturday, April 13.Gurudwara Sahib Ameerpet Prabhandak Committee, President, S Darshan Singh, and General Secretary, S Surender Singh said that the mass congregation will be held at Sri Guru Gobind Singhji Play Grounds, Ameerpet from 11 am to 4.30 pm in which a large number of Sikh devotees from across the state and others will converge at the event.

The event will be marked by the recitations of Gurubani Keertans (Holy Hymns). Bhai S Gurpreet Singh Khalsa (Darbar Sahib Wale Golden Temple, Amritsar), Gyani Vishal Singhji, Manji Sahib, Darbar Sahib Wale Golden Temple, Amritsar), Bhai S Gurjinder Singhji (Darbar Sahib Wale Golden Temple, Amritsar), Bhai Veer Singh, (Ameerpet Hyderabad) and others will recite shabad keertans.

During the congregation, the traditional Guru-ka-Langar (free community kitchen) prepared specially by the devotees will be served to all the devotees.

Nagar keertan

On April 13, at around 5.30 pm, a colourful 'Nagar Keertan', will be taken out from Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet and will pass through the main corridors of Greenlands, Begumpet, Punjagutta and return to Gurudwara in the evening.

Guru Granth Sahebji (the revered Holy Scripture of the Sikhs) will be carried on a beautifully decorated vehicle along with 'Nishaan Sahebans' (Religious Flags). The procession will be marked by the rendering of Shabad Keertans by the Jatha Tera Jatha and Keerthani Jathas of men, women, and youth. Besides that ''Panj Pyaras'' (five beloved ones) in their traditional attire will be the cynosure of the attraction all along the procession.

The major attraction of the procession will be the display of ''Gatka'' a famous Sikh martial art form and other breathtaking sword exercises all along the procession.

Amrit Sanchar

Amrit Paan (Holy Baptism) to eligible Sikhs will be performed on April 12 at 11 am at Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet, Hyderabad.

Vaisakhi Keertan Darbar

Night Congregation will be held between 8 pm and 1.30 am on April 14 at Guru Gobind Singhji Sports Play Grounds, Ameerpet in which Bhai S Gurpreet Singh Khalsa, Bhai S Gurjinder Singhji, Bhai Veer Singh, and others will recite shabad kirtans and Kathas on the teachings of Sikh Gurus.
