Telangana reports 496 new Covid cases, active cases mount to 3,713
Statistics state that positivity rate in the state, which was at 0.61 percent on June 1, rose to 1.69 percent by June 24.
HYDERABAD: In the bulletin released by the Telangana government, 496 cases were reported as Covid-positive in the state on Saturday taking the total active cases to 3,163. A total of 28,808 tests were conducted.
Also, 205 people had recovered from the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
According to the district-wise data, 341 corona cases were registered in Hyderabad, 68 in Rangareddy district, 40 in Medchal district and 15 in Sangareddy district respectively.
Statistics state that positivity rate in the state, which was at 0.61 percent on June 1, rose to 1.69 percent by June 24.
Currently, 43 covid patients are being treated in hospitals in Telangana including 8 patients in an ICU and 15 on oxygen beds. In the last 24 hours, more than 15,000 covid cases have been registered across the country.
A total of 15,940 corona cases were identified and 20 deaths were reported taking the total number of active cases in the country to above 92,000. In recent days, a massive drop in corona cases in Mumbai have brought down the number of positive cases across the country.
The Telangana Government issued precautionary instructions in the wake of the rising number of cases. The government advised children under the age of 10 and the elderly over the age of 60 to stay indoors and come out only if necessary. The Department of Health advised people to wear face masks in public places and practice social distancing.
