Although Congress is supporting Sinha's candidature, the TPCC decided to stay away from his visit to Hyderabad as the event was under the auspices of the TRS. TPCC President Revanth Reddy announced that they would not meet Sinha in Hyderabad. But the party leaders have refused to pay heed to his instructions and senior leader V. Hanumantha Rao went to the airport and welcomed Yashwant Sinha.

TPCC Working President, MLA Jagga Reddy sought an appointment of Sinha and said that when the Congress was supporting Sinha, the party should have invited him to the Congress Legislature Party office. Jagga Reddy's letter criticizing CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka, who urged party leaders not to meet Sinha, became a hot topic within the party. It remains to be seen what situation Yashwant's visit will lead to in Telangana Congress.
