Telangana Government to delink Aarogyasri from ration cards, all citizens to receive benefits

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed the officials to delink Aarogyasri health cards from ration cards and ensure every Telangana citizen receives an Aarogyasri card.

In a review meeting at the Secretariat on Monday, the Chief Minister took key decisions regarding the Aarogyasri healthcare scheme, emphasising expanded coverage and improved healthcare infrastructure. He stressed the importance of creating a digital health profile for every individual in the state.

Addressing demands to provide training and certification for Rural Medical Practitioners (RMPs) and Private Medical Practitioners (PMPs) in the state, the Chief Minister promised to consider the proposal after a thorough study. He acknowledged the challenges faced by RMPs and PMPs and urged officials to find solutions.

The Chief Minister proposed higher remuneration for doctors working in these regions to attract and retain medical professionals in rural areas. He also emphasised the need for a robust maintenance system for government hospitals and instructed officials to assign a unique serial number to each bed in these facilities.

Furthermore, Revanth Reddy directed collectors to ensure adequate medical facilities in tribal areas, highlighting the government's commitment to equitable healthcare access.
