Daggubati suffers heart attack

Dr Daggubati Venkateswara Rao, former minister in undivided Andhra Pradesh and elder son-in-law of the late N T Rama Rao, suffered a heart attack around 7 pm on Tuesday.

He was immediately rushed to Apollo Hospitals. The doctors who discovered a block on his heart implanted a stent in his artery.

As soon as he learnt about the news of Dr Rao's heart attack, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu went to Apollo Hospitals and called on Dr Rao. The former Chief Minister is a brother-in-law of Dr Rao — the wives of the two leaders are siblings.

Dr Rao's Wife D Puradeshwari is a former Union Minister and an elder sister of Mr Naidu's wife Bhuvaneswari.
