HYDERABAD: Numerous Telangana Haj pilgrims reported facing severe hardships at the Mina camp in Saudi Arabia, including a lack of accommodation and food. Complaints have surfaced regarding the Telangana Haj Committee and the Indian Mission in Jeddah's failure to support the pilgrims adequately.

A video shared by one pilgrim highlighted the dire conditions, stating that there was no one from the Indian Commission to assist them, making them feel worse than beggars despite paying a substantial amount of money for the pilgrimage. The pilgrim criticized the Haj Committee of India for its total failure to provide proper accommodation and food. He pointed out that the committee responsible for taking care of the Hajis, showed a lack of coordination and clear instructions.

Further complaints were made about the Haj Missions in Saudi Arabia, which were said to be ill-informed. The Muallems were accused of treating the pilgrims poorly, and there was no coordination for bus services, leaving people to roam around aimlessly. Additionally, the cleanliness in the Indian camps was described as deplorable.

On Thursday, a pilgrim from Telangana passed away in Aziziya, Mecca. His relatives staged a protest at Haj House in Nampally, voicing concerns about inadequate basic arrangements at some hotels. They highlighted that the ongoing heat wave in Saudi Arabia is particularly harsh on elderly pilgrims and accused the Telangana Haj Committee of failing to provide proper medical attention.
