HYDERABAD: It's not a show of acrobatics. Yet, it is, the Indian way. Today, India's most ancient form of physical and mental exercise, Yoga, got a global acceptance.

"Practice of Yoga enhances physical and Mental Health. Everyone should do Yoga. International Community accepting Yoga is a respect earned by Indian Culture," movie actor and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna said on Tuesday, marking the 8th International Yoga Day celebrations, organised by the Addlife wing of Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (BIACH&RI). June 21 is celebrated world over as the International Yoga Day.

Balakrishna said that through practice of Yoga, one could visualise 'Shadchakras' and every one must practice yoga, which was invented by great 'Maharshis'. By doing so, one could control the mind and focus on anything. Ultimately, Yoga would allow a human being to win over himself, he added. He appealed to people to utilise the benefits of Yoga.

He also said that Yoga was being practised in 15 different nations and that it was an honour to Yoga Gurus.

The program began with the chanting of 'Om' and was followed by various 'Yogasanas' under the guidance of Yoga Guru Sri Uday Kumar. Balakrishna extended his gratitude and also felicitated the Yoga Guru.
