BRS Patancheru MLA Mahipal Reddy joins Congress
Mahipal Reddy, along with several corporators, joined Congress. Ten BRS MLAs have joined Congress party so far.
HYDERABAD: Patancheru BRS MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy joined the Congress party on Monday.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy welcomed him into the party by presenting a party scarf. Ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Damodar Raja Narasimha, former MLA Jagga Reddy, Neelam Madhu, and Shashikala Yadav, along with several others, extended their congratulations to Mahipal Reddy.
Along with Mahipal Reddy, Zaheerabad BRS candidate Gali Anil, several corporators, and his followers also joined the Congress party.
So far, ten BRS MLAs have switched to the Congress party. Mahipal Reddy contested and won the 2014, 2018, and 2023 elections representing BRS, defeating Congress candidate Kata Srinivas Goud consecutively. He won in the last Assembly elections with a majority of 7,000 votes. Recently, ED raids were conducted at his residence.
