Eid-e-Milad Un Nabi celebrations begin in Hyderabad

Various religious events, charity drives, and security measures are in place as the city marks Eid-e-Milad Un Nabi.

HYDERABAD: Eid-e-Milad Un Nabi celebrations began on Sunday evening across Hyderabad, with various events scheduled throughout Monday.

Religious congregations were held at all major mosques in the city. The Muslim community also organised charity events such as poor feeding, blood donation camps, and other philanthropic activities to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammed ((PBUH).

Several localities in Hyderabad were beautifully decorated for the celebrations. However, the Milad Juloos was postponed to September 19 in view of the Ganesh immersion procession on September 17.

The Hyderabad Police made extensive arrangements to ensure safety during the celebrations. Police Commissioner CV Anand conducted late-night visits to the South West, South, and South East zones to encourage officers working hard to maintain security. In a Tweet, the Commissioner mentioned, "Made late night-early hours visits to South West, South and South East zones to spend time and motivate all my officers and staff who are all working hard to keep the city safe and sound."

Earlier, on Sunday, Commissioner CV Anand held a video conference with senior officers. He discussed strategies for managing the upcoming events, including the Ganesh immersion and the Milad procession. "In view of the Milad festivities starting tonight, and the Ganesh immersion on September 17th & two other events in the city on the same day, followed by Milad procession on the 19th - I held a video-conference with all rank officers regarding day-to-day steps, field-level strategies, road safety measures, and other precautions," he tweeted.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, also extended greetings to Muslims on the occasion of Milad Un Nabi. In his message, he highlighted the importance of Prophet Muhammad's teachings of peace, brotherhood, and compassion. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to the socio-economic development of the Muslim community in the state.
