HYDERABAD: The floodwater inflow into Nagarjuna Sagar continued on Sunday, prompting authorities to open 24 gates and release 2.99 lakh cusecs of water downstream.

The water level at the dam reached 588 feet, just below its full reservoir level of 590 feet. While the current storage stands at 308 TMC, the dam's total capacity is 312 TMC.

The opening of the gates has attracted a large number of tourists, with officials expecting a further rise in visitors due to the Sunday holiday. To ensure safety, police and officials have been deployed around the dam area to prevent any accidents.
