HYDERABAD: Governor Jishnu Dev Varma visited the Khairatabad Maha Ganapati on Saturday afternoon and performed special pujas for the Saptamukha Mahashakti Ganapati.

After the puja, the priests blessed the Governor and offered him "teertha prasad". As a token of respect, Khairtabad MLA Danam Nagender presented a statue of Lord Sri Rama to the Governor.

Devotees flocked to witness the grand idol of Saptamukha Mahashakti Ganapati, which stood 70 feet tall and 28 feet wide. This marked the first time such a large clay idol was installed in the 70-year history of the Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav Committee. On either side of the Ganapati idol, the figures of Ayodhya Sri Balaramudu, Rahu, Ketu, Lakshmi Srinivasudu, and Parvati Parameshwar were displayed.

The festival committee, along with the police and GHMC, made all necessary arrangements for the Ganesh festival celebrations.
