HYDERABAD: BRS Working President K Taraka Rama Rao expressed his dissatisfaction with the Congress government's crop loan waiver policy, comparing it to the proverb "Charana Kodi ki Barana Masala," implying that the policy was inadequate and misleading.

In a post on the micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter), KTR pointed out that more families were distressed than those who benefited from the loan waiver. He described the guidelines set by the Congress government as "death warrants" for the farm loan waiver scheme. He questioned the need for celebrations when eligible beneficiaries were still anxious and unresolved about their debts.

KTR accused the government of "diverting attention" and now "diverting funds," stating that the majority of the 40 lakh farmers are left disappointed. He also highlighted the delays in the Rythu Bharosa scheme and unfulfilled promises to tenant farmers and agricultural labourers.
