HYDERABAD: BRS Working President K. Taraka Rama Rao performed a 'palabhishekam' to the Telangana Thalli statue at Telangana Bhavan on Monday.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the merger of the erstwhile Hyderabad State into the Indian Union in 1948, which the BRS celebrates as National Unity Day, KTR hoisted the national flag at Telangana Bhavan.

He paid floral tributes to the Telangana Thalli statue after the 'palabhishekam' in protest against the Congress government's actions. This protest was in response to the Congress government, led by Revanth Reddy, replacing the Telangana Thalli statue with a Rajiv Gandhi statue in front of the Secretariat. KTR called on party workers across the state to conduct similar milk 'abhishekam' ceremonies to Telangana Thalli statues.
