Narsingi Police seek cancellation of Jani Master's interim bail
Narsingi Police requested the court to cancel interim bail granted to Jani Master in POCSO case due to suspension of his National Award.
HYDERABAD: Choreographer Jani Master faced another setback as the Narsingi Police have approached the court seeking the cancellation of his interim bail.
Jani Master was announced as the recipient of the Best Choreographer award for his work in the 2022 film "Tiruchitrambalam." However, due to the severity of the allegations against him under the POCSO Act, the National Awards Committee decided to temporarily withhold the award. Additionally, the invitation extended to him for attending the 70th National Film Awards ceremony, scheduled to be held on October 8th in New Delhi, was also withdrawn.
Earlier, Jani Master had sought bail in order to attend the award ceremony, and the city court had granted him temporary bail from October 6th to 9th. However, following the temporary suspension of the award, the Narsingi Police requested the court to cancel the granted bail, arguing that there was no longer a need for him to attend the ceremony.
