Drunken miscreants attack police constables in Vikarabad

VIKARABAD: Two excise constables were attacked by a group of drunken men in Vikarabad district’s Tandur. The attack took place after the constables attempted to stop the men from drinking near a belt shop.

Excise constables Rajender and Krishna had gone to the belt shop to prevent a group from consuming alcohol in the area. A verbal altercation ensued between the constables and the men. Following this, the constables left the location and returned to their homes.

However, the miscreants later followed the constables to their residences and launched an assault. The attackers reportedly beat the constables so severely that they were left bleeding.

Police have registered a case and an investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the attackers.
