Line Inspector caught accepting bribe for electricity meter connection in Palvancha

KOTHAGUDEM: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a line inspector in Palvancha, Bhadradri Kothagudem district, red-handed while accepting a bribe for an electricity meter connection.

According to ACB DSP Ramesh, the inspector, identified as Nagaraju demanded Rs 26,000 from a homeowner in exchange for providing the connection.

The homeowner, unable to meet the demand, approached the ACB for assistance. Following their guidance, he handed the bribe to Nagaraju, during which the ACB officials apprehended the inspector. Subsequent searches were conducted at the Palvancha substation.

A case has been registered against Nagaraju, and investigations are ongoing, DSP Ramesh added.
