HYDERABAD: BRS Working President and Sircilla MLA K Taraka Rama Rao emphasised the public's immense trust in the judiciary but warned that delayed justice equates to injustice.

KTR stressed the importance of protecting the judiciary's strong constitutional foundations and called for collective efforts to safeguard it despite political differences. He advocated establishing fast-track courts in every district to expedite justice and deter future crimes.

He also raised concerns about new laws potentially turning Telangana into a police state. He noted that recent central laws have sparked doubts about their impact, particularly in states with active leftist movements and public organisations. He urged the Telangana government to adopt a policy decision similar to Karnataka, where amendments were made to central laws to protect civil rights.

Highlighting the need for swift justice in cybercrime cases, KTR called for completing appointments in fast-track courts. He warned that delayed justice is tantamount to injustice and emphasised the importance of maintaining freedom of expression on social media. KTR pointed out that some central laws threatened to create a police state, and amendments were necessary to prevent this.

Addressing allegations of video recordings in the House, KTR stated that no such recordings were made and that legal actions could be taken after thorough investigations. He remarked that character assassination campaigns had targeted various leaders, including Prime Ministers, Chief Ministers, and MLAs, and that no one was immune to such attacks.
