HYDERABAD: Several leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party, including Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Jagadish Reddy, Padi Kaushik Reddy, Sanjay Kumar, Vivekananda Goud, and RS Praveen Kumar, lodged a complaint with Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender regarding ongoing attacks on BRS leaders and workers by Congress supporters.

After the meeting, Jagadish Reddy addressed the media, accusing Congress-affiliated groups of attacking BRS members in the presence of police, who allegedly failed to act. He revealed that this was the fourth time the party had raised the issue with the DGP, but no action had been taken, even after earlier incidents involving Harish Rao's attackers.

Jagadish Reddy stated that Congress supporters were deliberately targeting BRS workers. He pointed out a recent incident where Congress MLA Arikepudi Gandhi and his followers surrounded the residence of BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy and launched an attack. Despite this, the police took no action against the Congress workers involved.

Jagadish Reddy criticised the declining reputation of the police in the state, claiming that Congress leaders were even celebrating their birthdays inside police stations. He also accused Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of undermining the state's police and governance systems, suggesting that the CM’s statements were disrupting law and order in Telangana.

The BRS leaders urged the DGP to restore the dignity of the police department and safeguard the state’s integrity.
