HYDERABAD: Even as Telangana Chief Minister designate A Revanth Reddy and the other Congress leaders are being sworn-in at LB Stadium there is a frantic activity taking place at the Pragathi Bhavan on Thursday.

As propagated several times during its campaign, the Congress began the process of dismantling barricades in front of Pragathi Bhavan to allow the public to enter the Chief Minister’s residence which was inaccessible for the public in the last decade.

Earlier, in a statement, Revanth Reddy had stated that the gates of the Chief Minister’s residence would be thrown open to the public and it would be renamed as Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan. A team of workers were deployed with gas welding equipment and JCBs to cut down and remove the 10-feet high fence under the supervision of police.

The fence was put up by the authorities during the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Government rule, after instances of people gate crashing into Pragati Bhavan premises were frequently reported. Officials said that the barricades dismantling process in front of Pragathi Bhavan would be completed in the next couple of days.
