KCR calls budget of Cong govt full of gas; dubs it anti-people, anti-welfare

HYDERABAD: BRS President and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has vehemently criticised the budget presented by the Congress government in the Assembly. He stated that the budget revealed the government as an enemy of farmers and accused the Congress government of betraying all sections of society.

He made these remarks while addressing the media at the Assembly's media point, accompanied by BRS MLAs after Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka concluded his budget speech.

KCR highlighted that the previous government had introduced numerous schemes aimed at the welfare and economic development of all sections. He noted that the sheep distribution scheme for the economic upliftment of the Yadav brothers seems to have been discontinued. He accused the government of neglecting the marginalised sections, with no mention of the Dalit Bandhu scheme, calling it a grave injustice. He also pointed out the lack of assurance for fishermen. He remarked that the Finance Minister's speech was filled with repetitive figures and lacked any new initiatives.

The BRS chief further criticised the government's approach towards women, stating that the promise of interest-free loans up to Rs 1 lakh is not a new scheme. He expressed disappointment that no policy formulation has been evident despite giving the government six months. He emphasised that the budget lacked clear policies regarding the state's needs.

On agriculture, KCR asserted that they had a clear understanding and had provided Rythu Bandhu for two crops. He condemned the government's derogatory comments about misusing funds meant for farmers, labelling it an anti-farmer government. He pointed out the government's failure to purchase paddy and provide electricity and water, causing significant hardships for farmers. He said no clarity was given in the budget on the implementation of the Rythu Bharosa scheme.

KCR also criticised the lack of clarity on industrial, IT, and other policies, calling the budget speech a mere storytelling session rather than a concrete budget presentation. He stated that the budget does not cater to the poor or farmers and promised a thorough analysis and strong opposition in the future.
