BJP finally lets Chandrababu Naidu meet its top leaders, poll truck a possibility
TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda in New Delhi on Saturday evening
HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda in New Delhi on Saturday evening.
Naidu who had been kowtowing to BJP and praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi in recent months finally had a chance to appraise the national party of the need to join hands with TDP and Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena to fight YS Jaganmohan Reddy in AP.
The Telangana BJP impressed upon the party leadership that TDP could play a deciding role in not less than 20-25 seats. However, whether it would be an alliance or a tacit understanding one must wait and see.
Following the debacle in the 2019 elections, the TDP has been desperately trying to get back to the NDA fold whereas the party in power had made clear that they have no intention to admit TDP into the alliance.
While the BJP was not averse to cozying up with TDP for its support concerning the Delhi ordinance, Naidu had arrived in Delhi to attend the G20 preparatory meeting and already sought an appointment with the Prime Minister.
In preparation for the reunion, Naidu has not been sparing even a single opportunity to shower encomiums on Narendra Modi and his administration.
