BJP's politics with Bhagyalakshmi temple: UP CM Yogi pays visit

HYDERABAD: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Bhagyalakshmi temple at the historic monument Charminar on Sunday morning.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
It was touted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would pay a visit to the Bhagyalakshmi temple and offer prayers. However, it was not included on his itinerary.
Ever since it has realised the controversy woven around the temple, the BJP began giving importance and focusing on the temple. Bandi Sanjay launched his padayatra targeting the TRS Government from there. It's at this place that Sanjay had said that the BJP, if elected to power in Telangana, would conduct surgical strikes on the old city of Hyderabad. When critics pointed out as to how surgical strikes could be conducted within the country and sought to know if the citizens were the target, he had an egg on his face. He tried to give a corrigendum saying he meant to say the party would target the Rohingya Muslims.
Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah had paid visit to Bhagyalakshmi temple amid euphoric crowds and fanfare. Ditto BJP president J P Nadda.
The BJP leaders are not leaving any opportunity to assert the Hindutva posturing when it came to Old City. The Bhagyalakshmi temple is a perfect recipe for their rhetoric, of late.
