CHITTOOR: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday alleged that Chandrababu Naidu ruined Chittoor Cooperative Dairy when it was making profits to help his Heritage Foods Limited benefit from it.

Addressing a public gathering after laying the foundation stone for the Amul Dairy unit in Chittoor, YS Jagan claimed that the TDP chief had totally betrayed the farmers on all fronts in his native Chittoor district for his own vested interests through Heritage Foods Limited. He wondered why a flourishing Chittoor Cooperative Dairy was plunged into crisis in a phased manner and then how the Heritage Dairy, owned by Chandrababu made profits during the same time.

Citing an example, YS Jagan said that even Amul was also one of the dairies run by a cooperative society like the Chittoor Cooperative Dairy. “Right now, Amul Dairy has its presence across the country and even abroad. But, the Chittoor cooperative was adversely affected by the policies adopted by the TDP Chief,” he criticised.

YS Jagan also alleged that 54 state-run entities and corporations were either close or forced into divestments by Chandrababu Naidu during his regime. “Had Naidu not been dethroned in 2004, APSRTC, government hospitals and schools would not have existed today as part of the State Government. All these establishments would have been sold in a lot to TDP MP Kesineni Nani, Narayana-Chaitanya and other hospital syndicates,” the Chief Minister said.

Babu, Pawan non-resident politicos

Terming Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan as non-resident politicians, YS Jagan said that they knew nothing about social justice.

“The two of them do not reside in our State and if someone has to see them, a trip to the neighbouring State is a must which shows how distant they are from the people. Chandrababu ran away from Chandragiri to Kuppam and his foster son Pawan Kalyan keeps visiting Andhra Pradesh only during his leisure time,” he commented.

YS Jagan said that after 40 years in politics, Chandrababu Naidu was thinking of building a house in Kuppam now. “While the Government is building houses for the poor in Kuppam, Chandrababu is now thinking of constructing a house there, 40 years after his public life and at a time when the people are preparing to bid farewell to him,” he said.

The Chief Minister was equally critical of Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, saying that he had once again connived with the TDP to try and cheat people with false promises. “Pawan Kalyan, who supported the TDP’s policy of ‘plunder, stash and devour’ (dochuko, panchuko, thinuko), has once again joined hands with the TDP and they are trying to cheat the people with false promises ahead of elections, thinking that people’s memory is short,” he said.

He appealed to the people to think why the TDP failed to implement welfare schemes while the present YSRCP Government spent Rs 2.23 lakh crores through DBT welfare schemes in the last four years. The Chief Minister called upon the public to support the YSRCP in the next elections if they feel they are benefitted through his Government’s welfare scheme
