Citizens of Medchal demand Metro rail to their area, covering large parts of Secunderabad
The Medchal Metro Sadhana Samithi on Sunday said that the people of Kompalli, Bowenpalli, Medchal, Qutbullapur, Alwal, Shameerpet, and Bollarum areas
HYDERABAD: The Medchal Metro Sadhana Samithi on Sunday said that the people of Kompalli, Bowenpalli, Medchal, Qutbullapur, Alwal, Shameerpet, and Bollarum areas were feeling disappointed and frustrated with the lack of attention and representation from the current government and cancellation of metro rail works.
It said that the people felt that the government was neglecting their region and showing injustice and insult towards them by calling off the metro rail project and demanded starting of the metro works.
The Samithi found fault with the announcement of metro rail in the old city and to the High Court, even if it was unnecessary, ignoring Secunderabad side.
Stating that there was no announcement from the previous government, they said that the current government was making changes to the earlier policies and leaving the aspirations of Kompalli, Bowenpalli, Medchal, Qutbullapur Alwal, Shameerpet, and Bollarum areas.
The Medchal Metro Sadana Samithi said the people believed the government's actions only would benefit other areas while disregarding the needs and concerns of the areas where there was a large commuting population.
Additionally, the association said that the stoppage of the Outer Ring Road and the construction of a high-speed railway over bridges were causing further problems for the small businesses in Jeedimetla area.
"The overflowing drainage systems and polluted dumping yard in Ranga Reddy district are also affecting the region's environment and well-being," Medchal Metro Sadana Samithi said.
The Samithi also said that the burden of taxes imposed on this region was creating further problems along with existing issues and stated that the people were urging the authorities to focus on addressing these issues. They believed that the negligence towards their region was not only damaging the state treasury but also causing hardships for the people living there.
