KCR attends Himanshu Rao’s graduation at Oakridge, blesses grandson to scale greater heights

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and his wife Shobha on Tuesday blessed their grandson Kalvakuntla Himanshu Rao to scale greater heights in life with higher studies and render his yeoman services to the society. The KCR couple, along with the youngster’s proud parents, K T Rama Rao and Sailima, besides younger sister Alekhya, attended Himanshu Rao’s 12th class graduation ceremony at his alma mater, the Oakridge International School here.

Watched by his grandfather and the rest of his family, Himanshu Rao received his 12th class graduation certificate during the passing-out ceremony organised on the school premises. It also turned out to be a special moment for all the outgoing 12th class students as the two most important dignitaries of Telangana – the Chief Minister and the IT Minister – graced their graduation.

The school, reputed for its exemplary standards, also gave away awards to students who excelled in various categories including sports, cultural events and social service activities. Himanshu Rao received the Excellence Award for his meritorious talent in the Community Activities Services (CAS) category. Himanshu – soon after receiving his graduation certificate – coming down the stage and paying obeisance to his grandfather KCR by touching his feet became a sight to behold for all the attendees. KCR blessed his grandson and extended his heartfelt wishes on his graduation into the big league of higher studies.

Himanshu Rao, incidentally, headed the CAS wing of Oakridge International School, taking up the task of social service and responsibility as a challenge when it was entrusted to him. Complimenting Himanshu Rao on his multi-faceted talent, KCR blessed his grandson to scale greater heights in future. Beaming with pride and visibly delighted were KTR and Sailima, the happy parents of Himanshu Rao, who were seen quietly relishing the joy of their son’s accomplishments during the graduation ceremony.

It was not just the cream of the Kalvakuntla clan but even Himanshu’s maternal relatives including Sailima’s mother who turned up at the event to witness the graduation ceremony. They included Himanshu’s maternal uncles and other close relatives from his mother’s family.

There was a bit more political presence at the event in the form of BRS MLA Ganesh Gupta Bigala. He attended the event to witness the graduation of Himanshu’s classmate Advait Bigala. Advait is the son of Mahesh Bigala, BRS NRI Cell Coordinator and Ganesh Gupta’s younger brother. With the parents and close relatives of all the 12th class students in full attendance, the school auditorium reverberated with their constant cheers all through the graduation ceremony.
