KTR questions Revanth Reddy’s bonhomie with Adani in Davos, says Govt puppet in BJP hands

HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has said that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy who was blaming the Adani group as a benefactor of the BJP is rubbing shoulders with the same at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Addressing cadre during the review meeting of Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha constituency at the Telangana Bhavan here on Thursday wanted the party workers to explain the tacit understanding between the Congress and the BJP. Recalling the call given to the Congress by BJP senior leader Bandi Sanjay to work together to defeat BRS in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, KTR wondered why Rahul called Adani and Narendra Modi two faces of the same coin.

“Even Revanth Reddy said the same in Congress party’s national level meetings and as Chief Minister of the State. He blamed Adani for benefitting the BJP to the tune of Rs 13 lakh crore, just before the elections. Revanth Reddy called Adani a thief,” he said. He pointed out the Congress had been doing cheap politics like this in Telangana while being friendly with the BJP in New Delhi.

“The Congress should explain to the people of Telangana why its opinion on Adani has changed all of a sudden. This way the people of Telangana will announce a revolt against this Government,” the working president said.

Enlisting the various assurances that the party gave before the elections he said that the 420 promises the Congress gave were just a number. “On December 9, while taking oath as CM, Revanth Reddy promised crop loan waiver, did the Congress or Sonia Gandhi pay the December month power bill? where is Rytu Bharosa of Rs 15,000, where is Rs 4,000 pension,” KTR questioned the Congress.

Demanding the Congress to fulfill all the promises it made before the elections, KTR said that the CM and Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy cheated the people of Mahbubnagar in the name of national status to the Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Project. “While the Congress washed its hands of Palamuru Ranga Reddy, they have no guts to question the BJP on how Upper Bhadhra in Karnatala got national status,” he pointed out.

Nailing the blatant lie of Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, KTR said that Priyanka Gandhi announced a Rs 4,000 unemployment dole to the voters which was later denied by the Deputy CM in the Assembly. Similarly, the same Congress which had promised crops loan waiver in one go, now declared that it would be done in a phased manner, he added.

Calling upon the cadre from Mahbubnagar to educate people about the false promises and false propaganda adopted by the Congress to win the elections, KTR said in another six months the people of Telangana would rebel against the Government.

Explaining the lowest margin with which the BRS has lost 14 constituencies in the recent elections, the working president pointed out that people did not reject the party. “In fact in 14 seats we would have won seven seats. In 119 we won 39 seats which is around one-third. In these 14 seats we lost with a margin of 0.5 to 4 percent vote margin,” he said.

He said that in Jukkal the party lost with a margin of 1152 votes, in Adilabad with 6,300 votes, Tandur with 6,500 votes, Kamareddy with 6,700 votes, Shadnagar with 7,100 votes, Parkala with 7,900 votes and Narayanpet with 7,900 votes. “In Mahbubnagar Parliamentary Constituency itself Devarakadra, Narayanpet, and Shadnagar we lost with a margin of 0.5 to 2 percent,” KTR said.

Exuding confidence KTR said that the BRS with a strong cadre at the grassroots level would bounce back in no time, he reminded them the vote difference between the Congress and the BRS was only four lakh. “There was spreading of fake news about Government jobs, ration cards, and welfare schemes. But we have invested all the schemes causing no discomfort to the beneficiaries,” he said. He opined that people failed to differentiate between the party and the government.

He declared the party would embark on reconstituting committees at all levels and conduct training programmes to strengthen the cadre. “The opinions expressed by the cadre at the Lok Sabha level meetings will be submitted to the review of party president K Chandrashekar Rao,” he said.
