VIJAYAWADA: Priests of the Vijayawada Kanaka Durga temple expressed agony after police personnel stopped them from entering the temple premises on Wednesday.
The police said that the Executive Officer (EO) of the temple, Bhramarambha, had issued orders to them asking not to allow anyone who did not have an ID card into the temple. However, the priests said that they wouldn't be able to perform their duties if this continued.
Reportedly, since the first day of the nine-day-festival, there were coordination issues. The employees of Sri Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam were deeply disappointed that the EO was not taking any steps to resolve these issues.
