HYDERABAD: Former president of APCC V Hanumantha Rao and former MP Mallu Ravi inaugurated the new Congress office in Marikal mandal, ahead of Rahul Gandhi's nationwide Bharat Jodo Yatra entry into Telangana.
Rahul Gandhi will step into the state at Krishna Mandal in Maktal Constituency of Narayanapet District on October 23.
Maktal Congress leaders K Prashanth Reddy, Marikal Mandal Congress President Golla Krishnaiah, and Mandal Congress leaders participated in this program.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi would end his Bharat Jodo Yatra in Andhra Pradesh on Friday at Mantralayam. Rahul Gandhi, who is set to complete his 96-km yatra in Andhra Pradesh on Friday, reached Mantralayam of Kurnool through Chilakaladona and Kaludevakunta.
On this occasion, Gandhi's visited Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt to take a darshan of the presiding deity and later performed Kunkumarchana and Mangalaharati to village deity Manchalamma Devi, followed by participation in special pujas at Moola Brindavanam.
The head of Raghavendra Swamy Mutt Subudhendra Teertha Swamiji and other presiding officials who welcomed Rahul with temple rituals showered blessings and handed over Tirthaprasadam.
The officials also felicitated Rahul Gandhi at a meeting organised on the premises of the Mutt.
Meanwhile, the police were deployed in large numbers around the mutt to avoid untoward incidents.
