"Today we celebrated four good programmes," the Chief Minister said of the development programmes that would change the face of the Srikakulam district.

"We've laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Mulapeta greenfield port. The foundation stone for the port evacuee colony at Naupada has been placed. We have laid the foundation stone for Hira Mandal Vamsadhara Lift Irrigation projects including Budagatlapalem Fishing Harbor in Etcherla Mandal", he added.

YS Jagan slammed previous administrations for ignoring the Srikakulam district, saying, "Previous administrations neglected the Srikakulam district. Mulapeta is currently regarded as a pillar of progress. Mulapeta and Vishnu Chakra have the potential to be the next Mumbai and Madras".

When discussing the port's completion, the Chief Minister remarked, "The Port will be completed in 24 months. We are spending Rs. 4,362 crores for the port construction. The port will directly or indirectly employ 35 thousand people. Once the port is completed, port-related businesses will flourish, employing thousands of our youngsters."

He stated, "We are making attempts to keep Gangaputras from migrating to other places. We are building two additional fishing harbours along with the port. We are also constructing a fishing harbour in Budagatlapalem at a cost of Rs. 365 crores."

"While the state has only four ports so far, we were the ones who established the four additional ports after we took power. Why hasn't similar development in coastal development been done in the past?" YS Jagan questioned.
