KADAPA: With the CBI noose tightening around him in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case, YSRCP Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy released a video on Thursday reiterating his earlier accusations against the probe agency and Dr Sunitha’s family.

In the video, the beleaguered MP, who is waging a tough legal battle to evade his arrest in the murder case, said that his motive was to put all the facts of the case before the people. He once again insinuated the involvement of YS Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Dr Sunitha and her husband Narreddy Rajasekhara Reddy in the murder of her father. YS Avinash Reddy also questioned why they had hidden a letter purportedly written by the veteran leader and his mobile phone as well. He even wondered why the CBI chose to downplay these crucial pieces of evidence which establish it as a clear case of murder.

Giving an account of the sequence of events, YS Avinash Reddy said that he was informed about the death of YS Vivekananda Reddy (Vivekam sir) by Siva Prakash Reddy at around 6:30 am on that fateful day. He was already on his way to Jammalamadugu when the news came and he immediately rushed to the former minister’s house. He said that YS Vivekananda Reddy’s personal assistant Krishna Reddy took him inside and showed him the dead body. When he asked if there was anything suspicious, Krishna Reddy replied in the negative.

The Kadapa MP claimed that even before his arrival, Krishna Reddy was asked by YS Vivekananda Reddy’s son-in-law Narreddy Rajasekhara Reddy to conceal a letter purportedly written by the slain leader besides his mobile phone. This was clearly recorded in the statements given to the CBI, he claimed. The veteran leader purportedly mentioned in the letter that his driver Prasad had assaulted him for asking to turn up for work early in the morning and that he should not be allowed to go scot free. According to YS Avinash Reddy, both Dr Sunitha and her husband Rajasekhara Reddy had claimed in their statements to have asked Krishna Reddy to conceal the letter as they did not want the innocent driver to be blamed for this. “Doesn’t this sound ridiculous?,” asked the YSRCP MP.

YS Avinash Reddy wondered why Dr Sunitha preferred to believe the driver’s version at the expense of her father’s hand-written letter. He also claimed that Dr Sunitha kept contradicting her own versions in the several statements given to the CBI and said that he was puzzled why even the CBI gave the freedom to Sunitha and Rajasekhara Reddy to cover up their mistakes in their statements. “According to me, concealing the letter and not informing him about its presence when he visited Vivekananda Reddy’s house is the biggest blunder in the whole case,” the MP said.

Accusing former CBI investigation officer Ram Singh of downplaying this crucial evidence, he said that he was puzzled by the CBI’s approach which looked as though they were trying to shield Dr Sunitha, her husband Narreddy Rajasekhara Reddy and his brother Siva Prakash Reddy from the case.

YS Avinash Reddy also questioned why the family chose not to inform the police even though they were aware of the death by 6:10 am. The MP claimed that he was also kept in the dark about the letter even after he visited YS Vivekananda Reddy’s house. He said that he was the first to inform the police about the death at around 6:45 am while Krishna Reddy, Narreddy Rajasekhara Reddy and his brother Siva Prakash Reddy chose to stay quiet. “Just because there was something wrong on their part, they concealed the letter and did not call the police,” he stated.
