YSR Congress has nothing to do with YS Sharmila’s decision to opt out of Telangana Assembly elections, asserts Sajjala

HYDERABAD: YSR Congress Party has reacted sharply to the decision of YS Sharmila, president of YSR Telangana Party, to opt out of the contest in Telangana Assembly elections.

Responding to Sharmila’s decision, Advisor to the State Government and the YSR Congress Party’s spokesperson Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy made the party stand clear that it had nothing to do with the decision of Sharmila.

She was also a president of a political party and it was her decision and the YSR Congress had nothing to do with that, he said.

“Sharmila joined hands with the party that had foisted false cases against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in connivance with the TDP and tormented him. Her decisions were her choice.

“We are concerned only about our State. We do not comment on any other State. The Congress has tortured the YS Rajasekhara Reddy family and everybody knew about it. Today, Sharmilamma has floated her own party and it’s she who has to respond about her policies and decisions. Only she has to be asked about it. As far as Jagan Mohan Reddy is concerned, this State is important. We have the issues of this State and strategies to counter the conspiracies by the opposition here. We don’t comment about not only the neighbouring State, but also about anybody. You would have observed. Jagan Mohan Reddy doesn’t talk about others at all. So, our focus is only on this State.”

With this statement, the YSR Congress party officially disassociated itself with YS Sharmila and her political activity. Ever since YS Sharmila floated her party, Jagan and she were not seeing eye to eye. The siblings have been avoiding each other and they don’t even get to meet even when they are to pay homage to their late father Dr Rajasekhara Reddy at Idupulapaya.
