Bagchi highlighted the transformation in Vizag, noting that the city was once a hub for cannabis-related crimes. He praised the police for their efforts in effectively controlling the situation and stressed the need to prevent the influx of cannabis and other drugs from neighbouring states.

The Commissioner expressed his gratitude to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for the opportunity to serve as Vizag's Police Commissioner. He also shared a personal anecdote, recalling his earlier association with Visakhapatnam. He mentioned that after his marriage, he had planned to honeymoon in Switzerland but opted for Vizag due to financial constraints, promising his wife a destination that offered both hill stations and the sea.
