10-yr-old girl dies of shock from phone charger in Jogulamba Gadwal
10-year-old girl in Jogulamba Gadwal district died of electric shock while trying to remove a cell phone charger from the plug point
GADWAL: In a bizarre incident, a 10-year-old girl in Jogulamba Gadwal district died of electric shock while trying to remove a cell phone charger from the plug point. The girl was identified as Niharika and the incident happened in her village Eedigonipalli of Aija mandal.
Niharika died on the spot due to the heavy electric shock she received while unplugging the cell phone charger. Her parents and family members however blamed it on a sudden surge of power supply which caused the girl's death. They claimed that there was a high-voltage supply at the time when the girl was trying to remove the cell phone charger from the power socket.
Full details about the incident were yet to be known. There have been incidences of mobile phones exploding while being charged with some of the incidents turning fatal for the users. Even electric scooters, running on high-powered batteries, are also catching fire frequently, creating a sense of panic among the users due to the lurking danger from it.
