CI’s mother kidnapped and murdered in Annamayya district; suspect arrested
A man kidnapped and murdered the mother of a CI in Annamayya district over a financial dispute; suspect arrested in Karnataka.
HYDERABAD: In a shocking incident, the mother of a Circle Inspector (CI) in Annamayya district was kidnapped and murdered. The victim, identified as Swarnakumari, mother of Dharmavaram One Town CI, was abducted by a man named Venkatesh, who lived opposite her house.
On the morning of September 29, Swarnakumari went with Venkatesh on a bike to Punganur Road for a religious ritual. Seizing the opportunity, Venkatesh kidnapped her and later killed her. He buried her body in the jurisdiction of Madanapalle Two Town police station.
After recovering Swarnakumari’s body, the police sent it for post-mortem examination. Venkatesh was apprehended in Karnataka. According to preliminary investigations, a financial dispute is suspected to be the motive behind the murder, as Swarnakumari had reportedly lent Venkatesh a large sum of money.
