Man arrested in Hyderabad for black magic, threatening public with claims of harm

HYDERABAD: The Commissioner’s Task Force, South-East Zone, Hyderabad, along with Bandlaguda Police, arrested a man on Tuesday, for allegedly deceiving the public by practicing black magic.

The accused, identified as Mohammed Kaleem (also known as Khali), a 48-year-old wall painter from Hassan Nagar, Bahadurpura, was apprehended after police received credible information about his activities.

According to police reports, the arrest was made following a complaint filed against Kaleem, an ex-rowdy sheeter of Kalapather Police Station. He allegedly performed black magic for a woman named Nazia, who approached him with the intent to harm her in-laws. Kaleem threatened the complainant, Md Irfan Malik, by sending videos of black magic rituals, claiming his entire family would die within 48 hours.

Police seized black magic paraphernalia from Kaleem, including incense sticks, turmeric powder, wheat flour dolls, lemons, black sesame seeds, and other items. A mobile phone was also confiscated. The accused has a history of criminal activities, with prior involvement in several cases including murder, robbery, and harassment across various police stations in Hyderabad and Tandur.

The arrest was made under the supervision of K.N. Prasad Varma, Inspector of Police, South-East Task Force, and K. Satyanarayana, SHO of Bandlaguda PS, along with a team of officers.

Further investigations are ongoing.
