ACB arrests CDPO for misappropriating Rs 65.75 lakh

KARIMNAGAR: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a Child Development Project Officer for allegedly misappropriating Rs 65.75 lakh meant for the distribution of milk among Tribal children

Accused officer Anishetty Sridevi, during her tenure as the CDPO at the ICDS Project in Jainoor, Adilabad district, from 2015 to 2016, allegedly misappropriated the government funds for an amount of Rs 65,78,467 pertaining to the milk intended for the distribution to innocent Tribal children. "The accused officer abused her official position by corrupt and illegal means, obtained pecuniary gain and undue advance, and caused corresponding loss to the government exchequer by creating a false statement for incurring expenses under the Arogyalaxmi milk supply to the 322 Anganwadi centres.

The arrested officer was produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at Karimnagar. The case is under investigation.
