In a strongly worded social media post, Amala criticised the minister for making "evil fictitious allegations" and using her family as a means to further political aims.

Amala questioned the minister's reliance on unverified and scandalous information. She described the remarks about her husband as utterly false, and stated that it was disgraceful for a public official to make such baseless accusations.
