HYDERABAD: Is Telangana BJP president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar chickening out from appearing before the Telangana’s Women’s Commission.

Sanjay, at a public meeting, made certain derogatory remarks against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha recently.

The moment the video clip of Sanjay’s loose comments was put out by BRS ranks, the MP was cornered by all. The Women’s Commission took his comments against Kavitha suo motu issued notices to him directing him to appear before it on March 15, Wednesday.

In response to the notice, Sanjay wrote to the Commission that he could appear on Saturday, March 18, as he had to attend Parliament sessions.

The BJP president wrote to the commission saying: “This is with reference to the letter received through email on 13th March, 2023

(5.25 pm) (sic) directing me to appear before the Commission on 15.03.2023 at 11.00 AM, I would like to inform you that since the Parliament is in Session, as an elected Member of Parliament, my presence is required during the Budget Session of the Parliament in New Delhi. Hence, it will not be possible for me to attend before the Commission on given date and time. Rather, I will appear before the Commission on 18.03.2023

(Saturday) at any convenient time of the Commission.

“I would like to request you to kindly provide necessary material leading to my appearance before the Commission, prior to the date of my appearance; so that I will be in a better position to give my explanation, if any.”

It’s yet to be seen whether the Commission would allow him time.

Meanwhile, Sanjay drew flak from all quarters including from some member of the BJP over his remaps against Kavitha.
