HYDERABAD: The agenda of the Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre was to sell the lands of farmers to big corporations, alleged Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Nizamabad District Collectorate Office. Addressing a public meeting on this occasion, he said that the Prime Minister had sold airlines, railway lines, banks, factories and everything in the country to his allies and was now plotting to sell off lands of the farmers too to them. Referring to the construction of the collectorate complex, KCR said that it was possible due to the efforts of many dedicated people.

The Chief Minister asked the crowd if he should enter national politics. He was approached by farmer's organisations from across the country who wanted him to lead the nation, the Chief Minister claimed.

KCR said that Telangana had the best schemes in the country, for farmers, women, youth, minorities and other sectors. He asked people to compare Telangana with other States. KCR also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi only cared about uplifting big corporates of the country. He said that the Centre was planning on imposing more taxes on people of Telangana by placing charges on the free electricity and irrigation and drinking water, apart from already increasing the prices of common commodities.

He said that Nizamabad was known for the famous irrigation project Nizam Sagar which wasn't receiving enough water. He said Kaleshwaram would soon be extended to Singur dam and that every inch of Nizamabad would be irrigated. He also sanctioned Rs 100 crore for the development of Nizamabad Urban.
