BJP will scrap Muslim reservation in Telangana, end KCR’s Majlis agenda: Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday that the BJP would abolish the reservation to Muslims in Telangana if the party was voted to power in the next Assembly elections in the state
HYDERABAD: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday that the BJP would abolish the reservation to Muslims in Telangana if the party was voted to power in the next Assembly elections in the state.
Addressing a mammoth public meeting organized by the party in Chevella in Ranga Reddy district, the BJP strongman said that the reservations were the right of the SCs, STs and the BCs and that the abolishment of Muslim reservation would benefit them in the State. Since the steering of the ‘car’, the election symbol of the BRS, was in the hands of Asaduddin Owaisi, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) was only implementing the Majlis (AIMIM) agenda in Telangana, he alleged.
Amit Shah said that the BRS government was not celebrating ‘Telangana Liberation Day’ officially on September 17 as it is scared of the AIMIM. But the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre and the BJP would organize it officially every year like it was conducted last time at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad.
Claiming that the countdown to dethrone the corrupt BRS government had started in the State, the Union Home Minister said that the massive turnout at the meeting was proof that the BJP would form the government in the next elections. He said that KCR was dreaming to become the Prime Minister but he was forgetting that the Prime Minister’s chair was not vacant.
Exuding confidence that Narendra Modi would once again become the Prime Minister, he said, “to see a full picture one has to first see a trailer by winning the Assembly elections in Telangana.” He said several projects that were taken up by the BRS government were hit by scams as KCR was using Telangana as an ATM for his family.
Amit Shah said that KCR changed TRS party’s name to BRS to protect himself from his failures.
Referring to the arrest of Telangana BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar and sending him to jail in connection with the SSC Hindi question paper leak case a few days ago, he said that the BJP leaders and activists were not scared of such actions carried out by the BRS government with the help of the police.
He accused the BRS government of failing to conduct Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) examination properly resulting in leak of question papers, thus affecting careers of lakhs of unemployed youth in the State.
Demanding that Telangana Chief Minister order a probe by a High Court sitting judge into the TSPSC question paper leak case, Amit Shah said that if the BRS government failed to take necessary action against those who were involved in the scam, then the BJP, once voted to power in Telangana in the next Assembly elections, would not spare anyone and take stern action against the culprits.
Listing out various development works taken up in Telangana after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, Amit Shah said that the Centre gave Rs.1.2 lakh crore funds for Telangana as against Rs 30,000 crore received during the UPA government before 2014.
He said that the Central government accorded priority to Telangana in construction of highways, granting rail projects, inaugurating a plant at Ramagundam fertilizer factory and sanctioning a mega textile park to benefit cotton farmers, among others.
Amit Shah said that the funds released by the Centre were not reaching the beneficiaries at the ground level because of the apathy shown by the BRs government and that the people also realized KCR’s gimmicks.
BJP’s Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay, speaking earlier at the meeting, described Amit Shah as a tiger that began its ‘hunting’ in Telangana and added that the BJP would rid the state of family rule and corrupt governance. He assured the youth that a job calendar would be released on the first day of every month if the BJP was voted to power in the State and render justice to the unemployed youth.
