KARIMNAGAR: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) has come down heavily on BJP MP Bandi Sanjay for his provocative remarks on the Muslim community and his inefficiency in establishing Central Government institutions in Karimnagar despite being an MP from that region.

KTR participated in the Praja Ashirvada Sabha at Karimnagar on Wednesday. Addressing the public gathering, the BRS Working President said that Hindus and Muslims were residing peacefully in Karimnagar. He criticised that Bandi Sanjay was more focussed on demolishing masjids and graveyards of Muslims rather than focussing on laying foundation stone for development projects like schools, colleges, hospitals and double-bedroom houses that would benefit the people in his constituency.

KTR said that the BJP MP even failed to construct a temple and it was Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar who spoke to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) and is constructing a temple here. He also sought to know what the latter had done for Karimnagar, despite being an MP. “Sanjay has utterly failed to bring renowned Central Government educational institutions like Navodaya, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) and the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) to Karimnagar city and constituency,” he said.

KTR added that the Congress and the BJP were not in a position to field the right candidates in Karimnagar to contest the development made by the BRS Government in Karimnagar to a tune of Rs 300 crore in the last nine-and-a-half years. Taking a jibe at TPCC president A Revanth Reddy, KTR said that he was a third class criminal caught red-handed in the cash-for-vote case. “The Congress is responsible for the backwardness of Telangana for 60 years. I appealed to the voters to ensure that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao becomes a hat-trick CM,” he said.

Referring to the employment generated during KCR’s rule, the BRS Working President said that 1.30 lakh jobs were filled out of 2.20 lakh job vacancies in the last nine-and-a-half years. Remaining posts would also be filled in a phased manner, he assured. “Apart from that, a job calendar will be announced every year and the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) will be revamped after the BRS Government is blessed with power in the elections," he said.
