Bonalu festival begins in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Bonalu festival commenced in Hyderabad, marking the beginning of a month-long celebration that will continue until August 4. The Endowment Department organised a Bonalu procession that started from Langar Houz and concluded at Golconda Fort.

Notable figures, including Speaker Gadam Prasad, Ministers Konda Surekha and Ponnam Prabhakar, and Collector Anudeep Durishetty, participated in the event.

Following the Golconda Bonalu, the renowned Lashkar Bonalu will take place at the Sri Ujjaini Mahakali Devasthanam in Secunderabad on July 21. The festival will also be celebrated on July 29 at the Sri Simhavahini Mahankali Temple in Lal Darwaza, culminating at the Akkanna Madanna Temple in the old city of Hyderabad.
