HYDERABAD: BRS leaders led by MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy met Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad here on Monday and urged him to disqualify turncoat MLA Danam Nagender who switched his loyalty to the Congress. The BRS submitted to the Speaker that Danam Nagender must be disqualified under the Anti-Defection law.
Later addressing media at the Hyderguda MLA quarters, Kaushik Reddy said that Nagender had won the Khairatabad seat on B-Form given by the BRS and as per the Supreme Court’s verdict he must be disqualified within three months.

“We have met the Speaker following a direction from BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao. The Speaker must initiate action based on the Anti-defection law. It is not advisable to get elected on one party symbol and shift to another,” he said.
Recalling the earlier statements of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the BRS leader said that he once sought that turncoats must be stoned. “Revanth Reddy even called Danam Nagender a Beedi seller. But he was admitted into the Congress. Will he be selling beedis there?” Koushik Reddy pointed out.
He said that the BRS took the defection of Danam Nagender and others in its stride. “But there will be a time when we will open our gates. But we wanted Revanth Reddy’s Government intact for the full term of five years. But he has internal trouble, the Nalgonda and Khammam bombs can go off at any time,” he said.
