BRS legislators unanimously elect KCR as their leader in Assembly
The MLAs who met under the chairmanship of BRS Parliamentary Party leader K Keshav Rao also passed a single-line resolution handing over the responsibility of selecting other members of the BRSLP to KCR.
HYDERABAD: The newly-elected legislators of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) have unanimously resolved to elect former Chief Minister and party president K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) as the BRS Legislature Party leader on Saturday at the Telangana Bhavan.
The MLAs who met under the chairmanship of BRS Parliamentary Party leader K Keshav Rao also passed a single-line resolution handing over the responsibility of selecting other members of the BRSLP to KCR.
While Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy proposed the name of KCR former ministers Srinivas Yadav and Kadiam Srihari seconded the proposal.
However, KCR who had undergone a hip replacement surgery at Yashoda hospitals would not be able to attend the Assembly during the current session.
Later, the BRS MLAs reached the Gun Park in front of the Assembly building and offered tributes to the Telangana martyrs before entering the Assembly session.
