BRS MLA Kadiyam Srihari, daughter Dr. Kavya join Congress, MRPS activists protest in Station Ghanpur

Dr Kavya who was nominated by the BRS for the Warangal (SC) Lok Sabha seat, rejected the nomination and joined the Congress.

HYDERABAD: Former Minister and BRS Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari and his daughter Dr. Kavya joined the Congress in the presence of Chief Minister and TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy and AICC in-charge Deepadas Munshi here on Sunday.

Both the BRS leaders were invited into the Congress party by Deepadas Munshi by offering them Congress scarves. Dr Kavya who was nominated by the BRS for the Warangal (SC) Lok Sabha seat, rejected the nomination and joined the Congress.

Meanwhile, MRPS activists in Dharmasagar of Station Ghanpur Assembly Constituency organised a protest against Kadiyam and his daughter joining the Congress. They raised slogans against Kadiyam Srihari. A few activists also poured kerosene and tried to immolate themselves. However, the police reacted in time and saved them. They were then shifted to the police station.
